Step 1:
✔️ Create an account on eLicense. This is the Real Estate Agency’s online licensing system.
✔️ Apply for Broker license on eLicense. $300 non-refundable application fee
Step 2:
✔️ Sign-up for Oregon Real Estate Broker Pre-License Education 150 hour online course.
Must be an agency-approved RE school.

- At Your Pace Online ($289)
Step 3:
✔️ Complete the course & pass the end of course exam. Takes approx 6-8 weeks full time, 3-4 months part time
Step 4:
✔️ Schedule an appointment with PSI, to take the OR Real Estate License exam. (Cost $75)
Step 5:
✔️ Take & pass your test! (You’re almost there!)
Step 6:
✔️ Background check & fingerprinting process.
Fingerprinting timeline: Fingerprint processing by the Oregon State Police is currently taking 3-4 weeks. If you are concerned about this timeline, you can be fingerprinted before you take your license exam. View PSI’s current fingerprinting schedule.
Your fingerprints will be taken at PSI Exam Center after you take and pass the license exam. If you are taking the license exam via PSI’s remote online proctoring, you may have your fingerprints taken before or after you take and pass the license exam.
Fingerprints are processed through the Oregon State Police (OSP) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). You will pay a fee directly to PSI to have your fingerprints taken and processed. Please contact PSI for the current fee.
Fingerprints must be submitted digitally through PSI.
Step 7:
✔️ Your license will be issued when the following:
- Your background check clears.
- The Real Estate Agency completes a final review of your application.
- You sign an agreement with a brokerage to transfer your license to.
**Please note: License exam scores and background check clearances are each good for one year. The Agency can only issue a license while the relevant scores and background check clearance are valid.**
